Project Wi-Fi Comstar is being implemented in partnership with well-known IT and media companies: Intel, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and RosBusinessConsulting.
Intel – the world’s major manufacturer of microprocessors – is also a leading manufacturer of equipment for personal computers, network and telecommunications products.
As part of the Project, Intel will provide Comstar United Telesystems a possibility to participate in the verification program, which confirms that Centrino technology-based mobile devices are capable of operating at a hot-spot of that operator. In addition, the company as a chip maker is keen to increase the sales of portable devices supporting Wi-Fi, which this Project should promote.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers is a leading IT company in Europe whose strategic area of activities is development and introduction of essential business applications and new-generation mobile solution engineering. Proposals of Fujitsu Siemens Computers cover a range of products from palmtop and desktop computers to corporate level solutions. The founders of the company are Fujitsu Limited and Siemens AG.
As part of Wi-Fi Comstar, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will provide specimens of its products at the most popular access points and conduct a training course for hot-spot holders. The company will offer special terms and conditions for the purchase of portable devices as part of its marketing support to the Project.
The RosBusinessConsulting Group of Companies has become one of the first to achieve success on the fast-growing Russian IT market. The company started its operation in May 1992 on the base of an information agency, RosBusinessConsulting. The RosBusinessConsulting Group of Companies today includes two areas: Media, which is represented by RIA RosBusinessConsulting, Russian business RBC TV channel, several specialist information Internet resources: Cnews, Zoom; and IT – one of the major software houses in Russia. RBC provides information support to the Project, and also is the designer of this site, the generic page of which will be displayed on the screens of the Wi-Fi Comstar area visitors at the time of their registration.
